About the Free Beta

3spread is currently in free beta. That means free access to the API with no credit card, no payment information, and no catch. As we roll out new filing types and datasets, beta participants get first access.

What do I get during beta?

Free API access to every dataset we've shipped so far, with new filing types and coverage being added regularly. Beta users are the first to try new products as they go live.

How much data is available right now?

Our coverage is expanding throughout the beta. Not every filing type or every year of historical data is available yet. We're actively shipping new datasets and backfilling history as we go. Beta participants are the first to access new data as it goes live. You can check our Documentation for current coverage details.

What happens when beta ends?

We'll give you plenty of notice before anything changes. Your account and everything you've set up carries over. Beta accounts will automatically convert to the free tier, so nothing breaks. Additional paid tiers with expanded access will be available for users who need more. Beta participants will also receive up to 50% off paid plans as a thank-you for being early.

Is there a catch?

No. We don't require a credit card or any payment information. The only thing we ask is that you let us know if something is broken or missing.

At some point we'll introduce an optional supporter tier for a few dollars a month. It's not a paywall, your free access stays the same. It's a way for people who find the platform useful to help sustain a small team that's been building this full-time for over a year. Supporters will get some extra perks, but the core platform remains free.

Will the API change during beta?

We may add new endpoints, fields, and filing types, but we won't break existing ones without notice. If a breaking change is ever necessary, we'll communicate it well in advance so you have time to adapt.

Are there rate limits?

Yes, but they're generous. The beta has standard rate limits to keep things stable for everyone. If you're hitting them, reach out and we'll work with you.

How reliable is the data?

We hold ourselves to a high standard on data quality, but this is a beta. If you spot something that doesn't look right, tell us. We investigate every report and it's one of the most valuable things beta users contribute.

How do I get help or give feedback?

Join our Discord for community discussion and direct access to the team, or reach out through our Contact page. Logged-in users can also access Support through the user menu. We read everything.

A note on how we think about plans

The core data is the same across every tier. We don't hold back filing types or delay data delivery based on what you're paying. The differences come down to how you use the data, what kind of support you need, and how it's licensed.

If you're an individual researcher or developer, the free beta gives you everything you need to explore, build, and evaluate. When the beta ends, Individual plans will start with a free tier. Additional tiers with expanded access will be available at a range of price points. We haven't finalized Individual pricing for full release yet, but to give you a sense: paid Individual plans will start in the single digits per month. If you're used to what financial data typically costs, we think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

If you're a startup or a business, the right setup depends on your use case. Whether you need data for internal analytics, compliance workflows, or a product you're building for your own customers, we'll put together licensing and pricing that fits. We'd rather spend 20 minutes on a call understanding what you need than have you guess from a pricing table.

If you're here during the beta, that counts for something. Early participants get discounted rates when paid plans go live.
